Important reminders before you begin

- Activate USB Debugging on your device beforehand by going to Settings > About > then tap Buildnumber seven times in quick succession. A notice saying “You are now a developer” will appear. After that, go to Developer Options then enable USB Debugging.
Steps on how to root the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2
- Download the right root package for your device below. To learn what model you have, go to Settings > About Phone. Extract it in order to get the file with “.tar.md5” extension and save it on your desktop for easy access.
- Download and install Samsung USB drivers on your computer. You may skip this step if you already have it.
- Open Odin v3.09 on your computer. Launch it by right-clicking the icon and choosing “run as administrator.
- When Odin is up, click on “PDA” and select the root file you extracted earlier.
- Check the boxes next to Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time. Ensure that the Re-Partition option is not ticked.
- Switch off your Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 and turn it off again by pressing and holding the following buttons together: Volume Down button , Home, button, Power button
- Boot into download mode by pressing the Volume Up button when you see a warning message.
- Connect your device to your computer using a USB cable and wait for Odin to detect your device.
- After that, hit the Start button in Odin to begin the flashing the root package.
- Your Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 should reboot automatically and Odin will display a green “Pass!” message. Check if you’ve done the method properly by going to your phone’s app drawer and see if the SuperSU app is present.
