If you’re still using 2013’s Galaxy Note 3 then this may just be the perfect new year gift. The Android 5.0 Lollipop OS has yet to arrive on many Samsung Galaxy Note 3 variants but the official Lollipop build for the SM-9005 model has already leaked.
You can now manually update your Galaxy Note 3 to Android Lollipop.

We were made aware of this Lollipop leak courtesy of thispost we found on the dependable XDA Developer website. A Recognized Contributor going by the name “mithun46” has managed to grab an official version of the firmware and made it available for everyone as he posted it in this forum thread.
Important reminder
It is crucial to mention that this Lollipop build should only be flashed on the Galaxy Note 3 with model number SM-9005 or the international version with 3G and LTE support. If you’re unsure of what model you have, go to Settings > About Device > Model number.
Official build
As mentioned, this is the official Android 5.0 Lollipop OS so it won’t trip the KNOX feature unlike other custom Lollipop ROMs. The firmware, with build number N9505XXUGBNL8, weighs 1.1 GB and comes with Samsung’s own TouchWiz interface.
How to update Galaxy Note 3 to Android 5.0 Lollipop
If you’re a tech savvy Galaxy Note 3 users who have a sound experience in installing third party ROM, then you can download the firmware now and install on your device. The XDA member posted it in this threadalong with the instructions on how to flash it on the 16GB and 32GB models using Odin 3.09.
The process will require you to completely wipe your device (factory reset) so you may have to backup all of your important data first. The developer mentioned that a backup of the device’s PIT partition may be necessary should anything goes wrong; ADB commands required on how to properly create a backup is also included in the thread.
